Despite the difficult period that the whole world is going through in connection with the Covid-19 pandemic, the development of the Tea Masters Cup (TMC) project continues. Mexico, the largest country in the Spanish-speaking world, has entered the friendly family of countries participating in the tea master’s competitions! In accordance with the agreement reached, the national coordinator of the TMC in Mexico will be one of the key tea organizations in the country – the Escuela Mexicana de Té.
The first national TMC competition is expected to take place in 2021 in two categories: Tea Preparation and Tea Mixology.
“The entry of our country into the global Tea Masters Cup project serves to the development of the regional tea industry, today an integral part of the entire specialty food and beverage sector. The national edition of the Tea Masters Cup 2021 will promote the tea category, not only in Mexico but throughout Latin America, in addition to providing greater recognition to the Camellia Sinensis infusion specialists and encouraging the involvement of new consumers. This important global platform will also show that the tea industry has many and vast opportunities in the gastronomic culture of our country”- says Andrés Jurado, national coordinator of the ТМС in Mexico, general manager Corporativo TIANTE & cofounder of the Escuela Mexicana de Té.
