Dear friends, we are starting a series of publications with brief reports on the performances of Tea Masters Cup International 2018 (Hue, Vietnam). Besides illustrations and a brief description of the performances, we publish the average scores of participants for each of the criteria in comparison with the best average scores (for the criteria) of the tournament. All scores are given without regard to technical penalties.
Organizers’ Tea. The Organizer gives the same set of pure teas to each participant and sets additional requirements for brewing and serving Organizers’ Tea (for example using sponsor’s tea ware or concrete serving style). Participant selects one tea, brews, serves and presents it during performance.
Hakyung Lee’s choice. Silver Needle White Tea (Vietnam). Classic brewing and serving in Organizers’ tea ware.
Master’s Tea. Participant brews, serves and presents their own tea. It may be any tea from any source and this tea may be brewed and served in any style using any tea ware. Hakyung Lee’s choice. Hanguk Estate Green Tea (Boseong, Korea). Traditional Korean brewing.
